Minister of Industry, Muhammad Sarmuji considers industrial estates an effective means of promoting industrialization. He said that developing industrial estates requires support from regional governments, particularly in preparing land and infrastructure.
“Industrial estates are actually a good way to promote industrialization because they offer a complete package,” Minister Sarmuji said after receiving the gold-category Jer Basuki Mawa Beya Medal of Honor from the East Java Provincial Government, according to a written statement issued on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
He stated that the development of industrial estates requires support from regional governments, particularly in terms of permits and land for construction.
“The only thing needed is support from regional governments to prepare the infrastructure, land, and other necessities,” he said.
Minister Sarmuji explained that the development of industrial estates in each region would depend on the area’s potential.
“It will depend on which areas have the potential to be developed into industrial estates,” he added.
On the same occasion, he also praised the performance of the East Java Provincial Government. Minister Sarmuji noted that the data presented by Governor Khofifah showed that development in East Java was progressing well, with economic growth above the national average and the highest among the provinces on the island of Java.
“This demonstrates the extraordinary hard work of the provincial government. Congratulations as well to East Java on its 81st anniversary, and on its achievements, which continue to improve over time,” he said.
He also expressed his gratitude to Governor Khofifah and her team. He viewed the award as recognition from the governor and her colleagues of his contributions and career journey over the years.
“As a resident of East Java, I feel that receiving attention from the governor and her team is already something extraordinary. The fact that they have taken note of my journey so far is an honor in itself. This will motivate me to do even better,” Minister Sarmuji concluded.
